Welcome to Gathermatter

What Gathermatter is, who it is for, how this documentation is organized and where to get help.

Updated October 11, 2026

Overview

With Gathermatter you plan events, sell tickets and settle up. Everything sits in one shared place instead of being scattered across a ticket shop, spreadsheets, messenger groups and accounting folders.

The main building blocks:

  • Events & Tickets: create events, define ticket types with prices and quantities, sell through a public event page.
  • Admission: scan tickets at admission, follow check-ins and guest lists in real time.
  • Members: manage your team and members, assign access and roles, send invitations.
  • Finance: revenue, settlements and payouts, with Stripe for card payments.
  • Program & Bookings: plan lineup, stages and performances; booked artists fill in their own details through their gig page.

Gathermatter is for everyone who puts on events: organizers, associations (with roles like chairperson, treasurer and auditor built right in), collectives, and artists organizing their own gigs and content. You create an organizer if you run events, or an artist if you get booked. You can have more than one.

Setup

This is the fastest way to get going. The first four articles build on each other.

1. Create an organizer or artist

Start at Plan an event. Add the event details first, then Gathermatter creates the required organizer when you save. Details: Create your first organizer or artist.

2. Create your first event

The express form creates your event draft. Then add details and tickets inside the event. Details: Your first event.

3. Invite your team

Invite board members, your treasurer or volunteers and give them fitting roles. Details: Invite your team.

4. Sell tickets

Ticket types, prices, codes and payouts via Stripe. Details: Sell your first tickets.

Beyond that, the documentation is organized into topic areas: members, events, calendar, communication, finance, compliance and more. The sidebar shows all categories; within each category, articles are sorted in a sensible reading order. At the end of every article you'll find related articles for further reading.

Tips & FAQ

Where do I get help when I'm stuck? On the support page at /support or by email to hi@trara.app. Briefly describe what you were trying to do and what happened instead. That speeds up the answer.

What does Gathermatter cost? Account, organizer and artist are free. Free has no subscription; paid tickets carry fees. Pro is a separate subscription. See pricing. The prices on your event page are final prices, and every fee is visible before purchase.

I'm an artist, not an organizer. Is Gathermatter still for me? Yes. As an artist you get a public profile, and when organizers book you, the collaboration (details, uploads, schedule) runs through your gig page.
