Buying tickets

From event page to ticket: selection, discount codes, payment through Stripe, and why the price at checkout is the final price.

Updated October 11, 2026

Overview

Every event on Gathermatter has a public event page at /e/<slug>. That is where you find the date, venue, lineup and available tickets. The purchase takes just a few steps right on the page, and you don't need an account: your email address is enough.

The price holds no surprise: the checkout shows you the final price with every fee before you pay.

Setup

Here is how a purchase works:

1. Open the event page

Open the event link (/e/<slug>) you received from the organizer, social media or friends.

2. Select tickets

Choose category and quantity. If you received a discount-code link (recognizable by the ?code= part of the address), the code is applied automatically when you open it. There is nothing to type in, and you see the reduced price right away.

3. Pay

At checkout you enter your name and email address and pay through the payment provider Stripe. The checkout shows the available payment methods. Before you buy, the checkout also shows the statutory notice under § 18 FAGG (Austrian distance-selling law): tickets for a fixed date carry no right of withdrawal.

4. Receive your confirmation

Right after the purchase you receive an order confirmation by email, with your tickets and your order number.

Everyday tasks

After the purchase you mainly need two things:

  • Your tickets: open them via the link in the confirmation email or at Me › Tickets. You can also add them to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet there. See Tickets and wallet.
  • Your order: status, amounts and details are also under Me › Tickets.

Tips & FAQ

I didn't receive a confirmation email. Check your spam folder first. You can also find your order any time at Me › Tickets by signing in with your purchase email.

Are fees added at checkout? No. The price shown at checkout is the final price. There are no hidden fees.

Can I withdraw from my purchase? For tickets tied to a fixed date there is no statutory right of withdrawal under § 18 para. 1 no. 10 FAGG. Refunds are subject to the organizer's cancellation terms. See Refunds.

My discount-code link shows no discount. Open the link again exactly as you received it (including the ?code= part). If the discount is still missing, the code may have expired or been used up. Ask the organizer.
